Info

My wedding photography is completely catered around you, the couple. The most important thing to me is that you are comfortable, relaxed and confident in me as a photographer as well as in front of the lens. Clients choose me because they put all their trust in me to photograph their day creatively and romantically with a documentary element.

My photography doesn’t happen out of the blue, it takes time on your wedding day to get the desired results. First and foremost I will document your day as it happens, positioning myself to catch those moments you will look back on and cherish in years to come – these moments tell a million stories. Of course there will be parts of the day where direction is needed, this is where I take control and make sure everything is organised and runs smoothly – such as the family group portraits.

When it comes to your couple shots I focus on you as a couple and the surroundings you have chosen for your special day. We will head to little nooks and crannies of your venue creating some creatively unique portraits that will make your wedding photography stand out and will allow you to look back on all of the moments of the day in years to come.

So why me?

I don’t take things too seriously, there’s a job to be done but there’s an a roundabout way of doing it. I realise I’m there for the whole day from start to finish so I try to make things as fun as possible. I’m always there and in on the action with out being obtrusive. I’ve been a photographer for a long time now and I love having fun and being within the inner circle of a wedding day, I feel very privileged to be in that position. I don’t think I end up there for no reason, I’ll earn my way and become friendly with your family and bridal party. I’m experienced enough to deal with pretty much every situation that I’ve landed in. Here’s a couple of points to think of why you’d book me without thinking about the obvious things…

  • Throughout the whole day I’ll be calm cool and collected on the outside no matter what’s going on, on the inside. My mind works at a million miles an hour on your wedding day. But it’s being able to deal with everything and still make it fun.
  • It doesn’t matter if it’s raining or not on your wedding day. I’ve done lots of weddings where it’s poured the whole day and smashed it. Not just taking images that will ‘do the job’ but up keeping my standard of work and making sure the couple are delighted.
  • I’m always trying to do things differently and better. Never being content in myself or my work I’ll scrutinize every wedding once it’s done and become better and better – I hope!
  • We will have a genuine laugh on your wedding day. I’m not there to ‘do a job’ I’m there to make sure you guys have a great day and within that you’ll get some awesome photos. Everyone always asks me about bridezillas but I’m 100% honest and I’ve never had one because I get on with my couples so well. I understand it’s a stressful and emotional day but you can still have fun.
  • I know how to pose you without you knowing I’m posing you. There’s no ‘say cheese’ or ‘say boys’ etc all posing is done in the flow of things. You’ll know you’re being photographed but I’ll literally just speak with you guys the whole way through giving you little guide tips as we go.
  • I will go with whatever is happening on the day, I’m always prepared with a plan but the plan never goes to plan…we always end up with plan D at least! Not that your day will go pear shaped, but it’s knowing what to do when things aren’t going as they should. We don’t get stressed we just deviate!
  • If something goes wrong, you’ll never know about it! You won’t believe the things that happen behind the scenes at weddings. We’ll go with ‘what you don’t know won’t hurt you’ it’s not a day ruiner, it’s just something you don’t need to worry about or deal with on your day!
  • Admin wise, you can be sure that I’ll do my best to reply to emails promptly, I’ll give you advice if you ask for it, I can recommend other suppliers if you need it. The back end of my business is constantly being worked on to make sure from start to finish your experience will be the best!
  • You’ll see real FULL wedding galleries when you enquire so you know exactly what to expect.

Lastly, I love what I do and I genuinely can’t wait to see you get married. I do get emotional through the ceremonies and I do get emotional during the speeches…I just don’t make it obvious! My number one priority is giving you the best experience I can!

FAQ’s

Rates

My rates for a full day wedding start at £1750, which includes coverage from the bridal preparations to the first couple of dances and the digital files.

Travel

I can indeed travel for your wedding. I’ve mostly shot weddings in Scotland but I’ve also shot weddings as far as Canada before, so you could say I’m happy enough to travel. It’s not really hard to jump on a plane to somewhere in Europe!

Booking

I’d love to meet you before booking if that’s logistically possible! On booking it’s a £300 booking fee and 50% of the remainder is due 6 months before your wedding and the 50% remainder is due 28 days before. Your booking is only 100% confirmed upon receipt of signed terms and conditions and the booking fee is paid.

Insurance

I’m completely insured with public liability and professional indemnity.

Number of photos

Each wedding is different, but usually a full day wedding will be 500 plus.

Videographers

I 100% work with videographers, we are both there to do a job for you the couple so don’t worry about that!

Posing

Most people dislike posing, I like to say that I direct you and you create your own moment, but to get the finished images there’s gotta be a bit of pushing and shoving! The pre wedding shoot is great to get rid of any nerves you may have.

Family pics

I do family group photos on the day. It’s best to keep these group shots to between 10-15 groups of around 8-10 people. That way you aren’t spending your day away from the party.

Second photographer

I have a few different photographers I regularly use for my weddings. They are wedding photographers in their own right. You’ll end up with about 50% more photos with a second shooter.

Venue

I love if I haven’t shot at a venue before, it let’s me see it with new eyes and possibly create something new. I’ll always visit a venue beforehand if I haven’t shot there before, but it’s my job as a photographer to diversify and get great shots no matter where I am.

Venues I regularly do shoot at are… Logie House, Ardoe, Norwood, Barra Barn, Pittodrie House, Meldrum, Thainstone, Banchory Lodge and many many more local wedding venues.

I’ve shot weddings in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Inverness and even Canada!

Time

It takes a little bit of time on your wedding day to get the images you see in my portfolio. Usually about 1hr 30mins from the end of the ceremony if enough time to shoot the family group photos and the couple portraits too.

Intimate weddings

Of course I also do smaller weddings, whether it’s an elopement or just an intimate setting. Please get in touch and we can create a bespoke option for you.

Photographer affiliation

I’m very fortunate to have lots of friends who are also professional photographers. Those who I use to second shoot and to pass on enquiries to if I’m already booked. These guys are also ready to step in if for any reason I cannot make your wedding day. That said I am not actually affiliated with any other wedding photographers I’m just a one man band.
